Product Highlight: Pickling Spice
These days, I buy my produce at the Farmer's Market instead of growing it, but there is plenty of fresh vegetables available this time of year. I always keep our Pickling Spice on hand just in case I end up with more produce than I can use or if I score a great deal on bulk items.

I know what you're thinking. Bread machines are those things that were popular for a few years and are now collecting dust somewhere in your home. When you first got it, you were super excited. Fresh bread in a few hours and I don't have to do anything. How awesome is that?

As a caterer, I locally sourced all my ingredients and planned the menu based on what was available at the time; I grew up in a "waste not, want not" environment; and my culinary training in banquets and garde manger taught me to get really creative with an empty walk-in at the end of the week. You could say that I've been conditioned to buy what's fresh (or on sale) and figure out what to do with it later.
