Tomato Toast a la #BransonSpiceGirl

One of my favorite things in the summertime is going to the Farmer's Market to pick out fresh, locally grown produce.  This week I decided to head over to Real Food Growers, a local farm, to grab her homemade sourdough bread and heirloom tomatoes.

Each week, I look forward to finding new ways to use my market finds.  Originally, I had my eye on these tomatoes for an heirloom caprese salad, which will totally still happen.  However, this morning, I was itching for one of my favorite Spanish snacks, tomato toast.  Traditionally, this is a toasted chunk of rustic bread rubbed with garlic and tomato, then drizzled with olive oil and a bit of sea salt.  However, the giant purple cherokee tomatoes were practically begging me to bite into that juicy flesh.  So, I toasted off a slice of sourdough bread and spread with a thin layer of creme fraiche and a drizzle of our extra-virgin olive oil.  I seasoned the thick tomato slices with our Vik's Garlic Fix spice blend and placed seasoned side down on the toast.  Life is good!

Nothing starts the day better than a great meal!
